Dont use Cue tips in the camera only in your ears
I have been working in the Camera industry for many years and the first question i recieve from most customers is should i send my camera out to be cleaned.

Well this brings me to the old saying of, if its not broke dont fix it. This saying actually says it all!

1st thing you must never do is to try to esspecially clean the inside of a Single Lens Reflex Camera (SLR Camera). There is a mirror inside that can be damaged if touched by a person who has no clue on how to clean this item.

Just as the mirror can be damaged the focusing screen can be damaged by the greese from your fingers or using a cue tip is esspecially not good to use to clean these with.

If you decide to do this dont because you could end up damaging these items and end up paying to replace them at a later date.

You may use a small cotton rag to the outside of the camera but not any of the lenses. Only wipe a lens with lens cleaing materials, please do so in a clockwise position this keeps dirt and grit from not taking the manufacturers coating off the lenses.

If you have a camera shop near your home please go there to let them help in teaching you how this is all done.
Or if you like Please call me personally at the following number and i can help you out with your problem 252-202-8701

We at the Photo Center also repair cameras and if you need this service contact us or send us the camera in the mail and we can call you with a estimate for repairing the camera.

800 film speed on the beach Why Not?
Most people have this idea that the 800 speed that is out now can be used anywhere. Well Anywhere except on the beach or any Bright place is more like it.

Having a one hour lab on the Outer Banks we see numerous amounts of people bringing in those special family shots that are taken on the beach. The ones that turn out to be bad are the people that have no clue about why they shouldnt use the 800 speed on the beach.
People will say use the 800 speed to capture those fast action shots of uncle johnny falling off the surf board, or the inside shots where there is not alot of light.

Im here to tell you that if you want your photos to turn out on the beach please throw away that 800 speed film and put some 200 or 100 speed in the camera. A beach has alot of sun and is very bright this type of situation you use only slower speed film. If you use the higher 800 speed film this will overexpose the subject and the film in turn will be damaged or harder to print.

Most types of cameras come with a built in flash so why do you need to have that 800 speed film in the camera when the 100 or 200 speed will be fine with this flash.

At any case please use the 100 or 200 speed film you will not have as much grain in the photos and the results will turn out better.
